Telemedicine

Available for established clients.

Telemedicine is a convenient way to access our experience, expertise, prescribing ability, and time without physically attending your pet. Telemedicine is a good option when seeing your pet in person is not feasible or necessary, and a telephone consultation may serve the need. High Desert Veterinary offers the flexibility of telemedicine—when appropriate—to current pet patients.

About our Telemedicine Service

Eligibility

These pre-requisites must be met in order to be eligible for our telemedicine service:

  • Your pet is an established patient and has been seen in the clinic in the past 12 months.

  • Your account must be in good standing.

  • You must acknowledge that not all health problems can be adequately handled over the telephone, and a clinic visit or referral to a specialist or ER may be an unavoidable necessity.

Charges

Not all telephone conversations will incur a charge, but if a fee is appropriate, the client will be advised as such before the charge is incurred.

  • Consultation regarding preventive care needs and parasite control specific to Central Oregon

  • Discussions regarding addition of new pets to the household, breed selection and assessment of known problems with a potential pet
